Back in Coldwater!

The group arrived back in Coldwater this evening and as Dorothy said "There's no place like home." What an amazing adventure this has been. We have all met strangers on this trip who will now be great friends. Thank you to everyone who went with us for all of your warm words and your generosity. Carol and I are humbled by your comments. Please feel free to contact us anytime and we would love to hear from all of you. We'll be in contact and hope to travel with all of you sometime in the near future. Alas, it is time to head out of the park. We did get a great group shot at the exit and guess what was there?!?!?!?!?! Our look at a grizzly bear....first and only one we saw in the park....We believe it was a griz because of the hump on the back of it's neck.

After we went to Old Faithful, we dropped off luggage at the hotel, we went up to the Grand Canyon of the Yellowstone--another "must see" on a trip toYellowstone. Virginia and Sherryl braved the hike downward !

After a really cool night and great breakfast in Nevada City, we returned to Yellowstone to take a look at the geysers, mud pots and of course, Old Faithful. There are SO many things to see here, and there never seems to be enough time. We visited the paint-pots, the Grand Prismatic pool and then Old Faithful.....

This is a music machine museum. Some devices still work. One played a polka for $1.00. Carol taught Izzie the basic polka steps.

Nevada City (or as we called it "The Bates Motel") is made up of over 50 1870's cabins that were either original to the town or moved locally to their present position. What an awesome experience. Yes, there is running water and electricity...but no alarm clocks or TV's.

Well, the trip from Cody to Yellowstone was just amazing. We traveled the Chief Joseph Scenic Byway, and scenic it is. We were able to stop of the "Dead Indian Pass" turnout and get some great photos. From there we went to Tower Falls and a few even hiked to the bottom. After a short stop there we got to the Mammoth Hot Springs hotel and, after unloading our luggage and a few minutes rest, we headed back to Roosevelt for our Chuck Wagon Dinner. Lots of interesting surprises during that outing. Here are some pictures from that supper. Really an amazing experience......
